Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
USB Memory stick, or burn to a CD. If it's not a lot of files, you could email them to yourself. Or if none of the above work for you, then remove the drive from your old system and slave it to your new one.
It will work. I forgot to add it to my XPS order and ordered it separately from E-Bay. It is real easy to install. Just take off the small cover next to the battery, connect the cable, tuck it back inside, secure the cover and away you go.
XPS support is separate from "normal" Dell support and is located stateside.
I have an XPS laptop and am extremely happy with it. I've yet to have to call CS though.
It comes with the SDK to make your own apps. I just haven't messed with it yet. Looking for some premade apps other than the clock and performance monitor it comes with.
Picked up my XPS for about $1600 through AAFES.com w/ no tax, and free shipping. It was about a month before Dell changed over to the M170. Could not pass that deal up :D
Check AAFES.COM for deals on computers when you go to buy again. I picked up my XPS gen 2 for about $1600 through the AAFES Dell portal. Awesome laptop for a great price.
