Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Alrighty haters, everything on this page is too long and I didn't read any of it. It was probably just negativity anyhow. I just wanted to let ya know me and my pal may have cracked the code.
My first CPU, the good one that got up to 5.4GHz, was made in Costa Rica and had a batch number...
I appreciate your concern, but I simply want it - for the same reason I wanted a TH10 case with two pumps and two 480 radiators, with waterblocks on the CPU and both GTX 580 GPU's - I just want it! Also, my pal's 2600k can push 5.2GHz, and I'll be damned if my 2700k doesn't beat a 2600k.
Thank you Tsumi. I can see why many view it as a crapshoot, but I am being optimistic, trying to find a pattern to increase the odds of a good choice rather than simply complain... and like you said, it helps that I'm not getting it online, but rather can sort them out on-site at a retail location.
UPDATE: a buddy of mine is searching the nets with some results - he found this, for example: http://www./forum/cpus-motherboards/51650-i7-2700k.html - it says some people have have better results with later models of the 2700k, which makes sense. Taking this simple logic, I looked at the boxes...
Why thank you. I'm sure generally it's assumed that it's dumb to ask questions everyone assumes are obvious, but that's a fallacy. Let's assume you have 15 minutes to live, an internet connection, and a first aid kit full of various drugs. You have no time to get to a hospital. Perhaps somebody...
I am not an expert pelo - I simply wish for more opinions, whether they support what you say (and I grant your beliefs are the more likely) or not are requested by yours truly. This post is simply to uncover whether the expert community of [H]ard|Forum has any tips or insider information about...
Tell that to Bayesian Statistics
Sure do (or should)
Still would like to hear some more opinions.
Sure aren't - that's why they're labeled 3.5GHz
I know for a fact I over-volted it - I shall not do it again. Already said this.
I mentioned "new 1155 chipset" for a reason - it's new, I just bought...
BACKSTORY: I did something stupid and over-volted my processor whilst overclocking. Trust me, it won't happen again (1.5vcore max, always). My fried CPU was a 2700k that I got up to 5.4 volts, and should have been satisfied - it was from South America (said right on it). Next, I got a...
It's going pretty good! Here is a pic of what I currently have in the power supply side:
What is visible in that pic is:
the Caselabs TH10 (reverse layout) with ventilated doors and optional interface buttons
a swiftech micro res rev2 - custom mounted, the pre-placed holes along the rim...
[This] thing is a beast, but being an obviously non-conventional design, is there a waterblock that could be mounted on it?
Some details: I am in the process of building my first water-cooled computer, and I want the CPU & GPU(s) to be on water. My plan has been to get 2 580s and SLI them. I...
Hmm... I want 240GB at least for my main drive, so perhaps I will wait on a RAID setup. It sounds like OCZ is a good option. I'll give this some thought.
Duly noted, I'll try and remember to get extra O-rings
I'm actually torn between that very decision - to get current-gen then eventually...
