does more L2 cache really make THAT big of a difference?

ok sure, what do you consider significant? Here is what I consider significant: A performance increase that is noticeable while using the program. From the benchmarks I have found that compared L2 the increase is usually only 1-2fps in gaming benchmarks, and 5-10sec on the 'timed' benchies...

does more L2 cache really make THAT big of a difference?

... so you're saying you don't care about real world numbers, that it's worth it to you based on synthetic benchmarks?! Frankly if you're not going to see it in real world performance then yes you will "never see the $100 worth of performance" to defend his point ;) Show me 'cache heavy'...

does more L2 cache really make THAT big of a difference?

yes that is a very good proc to be sure... however i think that bencie is more semantics than anything... i mean who is honestly going to notice the difference between 155 and 175... that's a number for bragging rights only. plus once you use higher resos and really start cranking up the eye...

am I up a creek trying to overclock this system?

I should first say that I am new to overclocking. As such when I built my rig a couple years back I really wasn't concrened with how overclockable it was. Now that I'm ready to 'take the plunge' and expand my computer tinkering abilities, I'm worried that I'll have to shell out for new...

    My Final AGP Upgrade

i would wait a little and get the 7800GS. It can already be had for 284 on newegg, may come down a little more, overclocks very nicely, and will perform better than the x850 pro. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130274 if you really want to go balls out for your...
