Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
2009: GM and Ford are in the dumps, Toyota is the #1 selling car company in the US.
2010: Toyota starts to have mysterious runaway vehicles. GM and Ford are back in business.
Coincidence? I think not!! Corporate espionage is alive and well :)
My evga 480SC idles around 60C and tops out at about 94C while playing games. That is in a case with great airflow (3x120mm + 2x140mm fans) and after replacing the crappy tim with some IC diamond.
I call BS to those claiming they never go over 80C. You must all have your fans running at 100%...
I used the recommended drop in the middle method. That stuff is almost impossible to spread anyway unless you heat it up. I used twice of what I normally use on a processor since this thing is so much bigger and those heatpipes aren't exactly smooth either.
I replaced the massive amount of goop that came on mine with some IC diamond paste. I used about 2xpeasized amount in the center and just rotated the heatsink a bit. Temps dropped by about 5 degrees at both idle and load.Really nice since my fan doesn't ramp up nearly as much now.
Great video, now if someone would just make one with Steve Jobs as Darth Vader.
Apple really has become much worse than Microsoft, it's overpriced hardware running incredibly restrictive software. F@#k Itunes I want lala back!
Mine idles at 83C with dual monitors and fan at 60%. They do need to fix that. I've bought a new case (PC-B25FWB) that I hope will help with the heat but its still ridiculous. With a single monitor it idles at 66C. This upgrade is turning out to be damn pricy, new 1200w psu and a new case just...
This is absolutely impossible unless your rooms temperature is around freezing or your card's fan is broken. No way no how are these cards near silent at load. I have a nice case that had absolutely no problem running 2 8800's in sli (those are not exactly cool and quiet cards) But my single...
Alright finally got my evga 480 today and I'm pretty disappointed, it really is as loud and as hot as the early reviews stated. I'm a bit surprised because so many here said otherwise.
The single card is much louder and much hotter than my 2 8800's in sli.
Basically above 60% the fan...
My evga480SC is on it's way.
The only reason I got in this time is because of this place:

I signed up and setup a browser alert and it worked great, sure beats spamming F5 all day :)
If you ordered from newegg and did not get a tracking...
Made it through the newegg checkout today, that only took me like 30 seconds, got my order confirmation number. Thought I was all good to go then I get this email:
Thank you for shopping at Newegg.com.
We regret to inform you that your order could not be completed.
I wish...
It's coming soon, I've heard the pcb is shielded by asbestos and it comes in 2 models; air cooled with 5 120mm fans, or peltier cooling. And the best thing is it hooks up straight to your 220v wall socket, no special psu needed! It also comes with special grooves for cooking eggs and marshmallows.
