Does anyone have any luck in using ESXi VMDirectPath I/O passthru on Intel S3420GPLX motherboard ? I am trying to passthru IBM M1015 (flashed IT firmware) but it is stuck at indicating changes made will not take effect until the host is restarted ( even though I have restarted multiple times ).

I'm surprised no one mentioned this Open Source File Synchronization software :- FreeFileSync I use it to backup files to external HDD, very handy.

After weighing the pros and cons of your suggestions, I decided to go with 6xRAID-Z2 with the plan to get an extra HDD for cold spare in near future. Thanks for all your responses guys !

Seeing that both Option 1 and 2 is only different by AU$100 I'd go for Option 2 for IPMI 2 feature.
