lol :p
So in total you are losing 0.03, right? And you were prime stable @ 1.43 on load... so that's what you need to achieve, a load of 1.43. If you set 1.46 in bios, you will lose 0.03 which ='s 1.43 @ load.
Well that's the basic theory, it worked for me... a similar approach.
I did both, what I found was the voltage damper sorted the idle to load voltage drop but I was still getting a large drop from bios to windows. Pencil mod sorted that.
Well you may want to roll back to the older drivers and test your rig. You can always re-install the new ones if it doesn't help.
Not sure how to sort the issue Bill raised.
Well the P5K does :p
Oh yeh, forgot to mention, you may not need to go n pencil mod your mobo lol... try enabling voltage damper in the bios... it helps.
EXACT same cpu n mobo Slade AND same vdroop as i had!
The quad seems to like 1.42v @ load running at 3.6 (with p5k).
Have you tried to enable Voltage Damper in bios? You should be stable at 1.47 in bios, windows will idle at 1.44 and load at 1.43/1.42. Might as well enable it... tho it...
Wise choice getting rid of that Zalman :p
Ultra-120 X seems to out perform the Tuniq from what I have seen (correct me if I'm wrong guys). For something a little smaller, have a look at the Ultima-90 (smaller version of the Ultra-120 X). I personally would go with one of the Thermalright's but...
If you have the same mobo as me, then try enabling Voltage Damper in bios, it helps. If your not happy, head over to XS for a simple pencil mod, read this thread (post #36).
Erm, not sure what's up with Core Temp, sorry.
Seeing as speed fan is working for you, stick to that. 2 things you can do... leave speed fan as it is and manually add 15c to the 4 cores in your head. Or open speed fan, click on configure then advanced tab. For the chip, choose intel core...
Well done so far ;)
Yeh you add 15c to Speed Fan. Use Core Temp .95, it should show accurate temps.
64c is on the high side and your cpu is air cooled, what cooler? but you won't reach those types of temps normally, nothing will stress the cpu as much as prime. What are your idle temps @ 3.4...
Look for this... C1E (it's a power saving options). Not sure exactly where it is in your bios, try CPU configuration or something to that nature. If you see EIST, disable that too.
