    Thanks for the reply. I think I got it! Previously I tried AHCI mode but XP Pro SP2 would reset on booting and keep cycling thru reboots. Went to Intels site for AHCI drivers but the ICH8 chip doesnt support the "Storage Manager" that facilitates hot swap (ICH8 chip runs the 4 orange sata...

    I was looking at the 3 in 2 at Fry's yesterday but backed away as I have yet to get any Sata to hot swap on the DS-3 board. I'm running sata ide compatable in bios and plugged into the orange sata connectors on the ds-3. I would love to hot swap with the 3 in 2. What am I doing wrong?
