If you are using 1/2" the swiftech one may be better... although there are many adapters for 1/4" which would make the alphacool one a great choice...

If it is just a flow meeter (depending on how restrictive it is) I don't think it will make that big of a difference. Not even a degree or two I bet if anything. If it is that small of a case, would will have some heat build up anyhow. So unless you are so worried to run the rig open 24-7...
They have this gel/liquid contact pad matched to the copper plate (these type of blocks consistantly get better temps than the normal solid copper ones since they make a much better seal)
