Hey all,
I made a little video guide/tutorial about my experience overclocking on Pascal. In my case, I'm using the Titan XPs in SLI, but this should work on any ol' Pascal GPUs.
Whats up, y'all! Before putting my Titan X's into Nostromo, I wanted to test them with aircooling, and that called for a new test bench build.
Complete Specs:
Intel Core i7 6900K
2x Titan X Pascal (in SLI)
64 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3333mhz
ASUS Rampage V Edition 10
2x Samsung 950 Pro...
Let’s start off with a little shot of my loft/modding space. The ol’ humble abode.
Here’s me getting the main compartment panel ready to mod it. Basically, I just wanted to extend the cable cut-outs and tap some holes for standoffs. I’m going to put an acrylic plate...
A couple brief updates for you guys....
First off, the people spoke, and I listened. Nostromo 2016! I took off the waterblocks and --lightly-- polished them up, leading to clearer tops. I think this achieves the right balance:
Also, the cables from UPC (Ultimate Personal Computers) are...
In this update, I'll cover the waterblock placement.
First, a few shots of the motherboard block (EK's Full Cover Monoblock). I really like it, and it wasn't too hard to put on.
Next, I put on the EK full cover blocks for the GTX 980 Tis:
Finally, I did the RAM blocks. Step...
What does one do when there's no such thing as an Asus Rampage V Black Edition? Make your own, of course!
Before...
Tools of the trade. X-acto, tons of tape, acrylic paint, and brushes.
I also used a cheapo DDR4 stick of ram (as though there is such a thing!) and an old PCIe card to...
First off, let's build this case!
So many parts. Could not be happier with the build quality. Not a single screw was missing, and everything is super sturdy.
The indispensable manual:
The skeleton:
I love the brackets for the radiators and fans--makes them...
Hi all!
I posted this log elsewhere but I think it’s getting to the point where it could be helpful to others, so I’ll put it up here, too! I’ll also of course monitor to see whether anyone has questions and do my best to answer promptly. And your comments are quite welcome...
Well, I've finally made a decent amount of headway with the front panel mods. First things first, the rad had trouble fitting with the holes because it was being propped up ever so slightly by the piece of metal on the underside of the front panel itself.
A little Dremeling later and...
Alrighty. Been very busy working on this, but I gotta put in a few more hours to get a major update out of the way. Until then...
Lapped the CPU. Ended up with some pretty good results, I think!
Here's what the motherboard looks like all clean and purty:
Until next time!
Thanks a lot, I'm very excited.
I've gone ahead and ordered some of my WC parts, including the rads and fittings. I'm doing a ton of fittings because I'd like to do an all-Crystal Link configuration. It was kinda a pain in the butt, particularly because Bitspower doesn't sell their 15mm...
