    Post Your Mac Setup!

In case you guys with the Aluminum keyboards having been looking for a wrist rest, I found a solution. As you know, most wrist rests are too high for the low profile keyboard. Some say you don't need a wrist rest, but I don't like resting my wrists directly on the desk. So I found 12x17...

Anyone here ever use the Apple Wired Keyboard?

After a couple of returns, I settled on a 12x17 Artistic Products Rhinolin Embossed Desk Pad. The 17" matches the width of the wired aluminum keyboard. It's not meant to be a wrist rest but instead a pad to cover the work area on your desk. It's really just a glorified place mat, and if I had...

Anyone here ever use the Apple Wired Keyboard?

I've been using and liking the wired aluminum keyboard for a week now, but can anyone recommend a wrist rest to go with it? It's such a low profile keyboard that regular wrist rests are too high. I know some don't believe you should use wrist rests or that you should just rest your wrists...

Sorry to be OT, but since my "professional student" reference generated some reaction, I should clarify -- Close . . . I'm a professor:eek: "Professional student" is a self-deprecating term we often use to describe ourselves -- if not a demeaning term used by some others (but apparently not...

You've touched on what I consider to be the major benefit of flat panel displays. Unless you have a deep desktop, to consult books and papers while using CRTs you either had to place the materials to one side of the keyboard or angle the CRT askew so that you could read materials above or below...

Official BenQ FP241W Thread !!! Info, Pictures, Reviews

In a quick search last month, I didn't find any brick & mortar suppliers in the U.S. In terms of U.S. online retailers, there have been posts here from those who have purchased from newegg.com and thenerds.net (where I got my W September build).

Unfortunately not. You can PIP one of HDMI-DVI-VGA-Component or one of S video-Composite. I know, stinks. You can move the PIP anywhere in addition to 3 size options, but the window always stay on top.

There's a definite tilt with the laptop in place -- bounces back without the load. I've never had more than 5 lbs on top, but I'm sure it'll support more -- but with more tilt. A laptop's footprint is another factor given the 12" x 9" racks (not sure if the Sam's Club product is larger or the...

    Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

So you like my little stroke of genius! I actually thought long and hard about a vertical space saving solution that could handle the weight and heat of my laptop. And I certainly didn't want to/couldn't build it myself. Once a letter tray (often part of a desk accessory set with pencil...

Official BenQ FP241W Thread !!! Info, Pictures, Reviews

Posted this over in the Show Your LCD forum, and hopefully I'm not hogging too much bandwidth by posting it here too: I also want to show off my desktop rig for an otherwise mobile laptop. That's a metal mesh letter tray strong enough to support everything, won't melt, and the mesh lets...

    Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

My new Benq FP241W (1920x1200). I also want to show off my desktop platform for an otherwise mobile laptop. That's a metal mesh letter tray strong enough to support everything, won't melt, and the mesh lets everything breathe -- unlike most of the plastic stuff out there. Been using this for...

Official BenQ FP241W Thread !!! Info, Pictures, Reviews

Minor oddness on a low hum emitted by my W: It's really a low hum that gets drowned out by the fans/whir from my laptop and external drives -- so its not a problem for me. But here's the oddness: For now the hum is only emitted in two picture modes: sRGB and Standard. This display is so bright...

Official BenQ FP241W Thread !!! Info, Pictures, Reviews

I'm in the states, and yesterday I received a FP241W September 2007 build with 1:1 and overscan options. Finding this was difficult because I am unaware of any nearby brick-and-mortar retailers with this product, and most U.S. online retailers cannot verify build dates. I was not aware of...

What is BenQ's bad pixel policy? My store doesn't have its own policy but says it will honor the bad pixel policy of the manufacturer. So where does BenQ stand on this? Thanks in advance.
