Thanks for contacting us via our Amazon store. As per my reply there, we only sell 100% brand new product and any apparent wear should be only be as result of manufacturer batch testing. Normally SSD's are secure erased to set all the counters back to zero, but that's not possible...
Yes, it is most certainly compatible, (see link to specs on asus site) although, like most other ASUS Z97/H97 motherboards, the M.2 socket has only 2x PCIe lanes connected to it, so your XP941 will max out at around 800MB/s
Also, installing Windows is not as straight forward, and must be done...
We use windows diskpart all the time to do this. This method doesn't do a full secure erase of the XP941 (which isn't possible), but will effectively remove all GPT and MBR partitions so you can start over. Of course, you will need an alternative disk with windows already installed to boot...
