Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
There are some TVs that have a mode that will skip interpolation and literally just translate the 1080p pixels into quads, but they are more of an exception than a rule. I haven't heard of any such exceptions for actual monitors.
I don't mean all the 40" panels are BGR, however they are all "TV" panels, so it's not surprising that *many* are BGR.
It's the smallest problem with TV panels anyway.
BGR is common in TV panels, which is what all these 40" "monitors" use.
Most windows apps can be corrected with a simple truetype setting change, but it just goes to show how the market has yet to take these seriously as monitors.
If you want to max everything at that res with MSAA on top, i.e. the place where memory might start becoming an issue, I'd think you need better than a single 1070 anyway to keep the frames high.
With post-processing "fake" AA becoming more and more prominent this doesn't feel as relevant a use...
I use 133% custom scaling on a 34" 1440p ultrawide, I can't stand 100% scaling even on a 40-inch 1080p because I want more pixels in my text, dammit.
Pick a scaling level that is comfortable for you, everyone has different eyesight, preferences, and usage. Just be ready to tick "disable...
Jumbo monitor "immersion" (I have 40" 4K) is more primal then when roleplayers talk about immersion or whatever. Your visual cortex starts treating it more like a real world, or a window onto a real world. I get more sensitive to motion sickness, and can feel my stomach dropping (fear of hights)...
144 fps 1440p requires more pixels/second than 60 fps 4K. If smoothness while maxing detail is a goal for said games, you really need g-sync for either format.
750 can't do 4:4:4 @ 4K over HDMI anyway right? You're looking at 970 or better for full HDMI 2.0 support, if you want to drive a 4K TV without displayport (not sure that any do?)
Far fewer IPS aficionados care about absoulute color accuracy, rather than just having saurated color that is even across the entire screen. Consumers can get used to off colors, but less so when a side by side comparison is staring them in the face, particularly within the same screen.
1080@40"+ with shadows/ambient occlusion looks alot more like a camcorder than 4K without.
Going big is its own experience, for some its worth sacrificing some bells and whistles to achieve.
DP 1.2a can do at least 85 hz.... just that no-one has bothered to do a scaler for it.
HDMI 2.0 caps out at 60 hz in 4:4:4 due to HDCP-related overhead.
The only display that I have seen do pixel doubling is the Seiki se39uy04 in "just scan" mode for 1080p. (Incidentally, it does 120 hz in this mode as well.)
Others may exist, but it is definitely not the norm.
