Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The problem with that is that AMD said it's a driver problem, and people have actually gotten back a card after they RMA'd their first card and still have the same problem.
Further more, like me, some have put on aftermarket coolers on their cards, so we can't RMA our cards that easily.
That is indeed a good point, but on the other hand I don't think there really are that many people out there that buy a 290 card that aren't tech knowledgeable ;)
Guess we'll just have to wait a bit longer for another driver update, which hopefully fixes things for everybody instead of just a few.
I understand that it's not the same as cars ofcourse, but it was just to point out that we seem to tolerate these issues, where I think we shouldn't.
There's probably no other industry where there are the amount of different configurations they would have to test as in the computer industry and...
I never said that releasing whql drivers with bugs would be better, in fact what I tried to make clear is that I think it would have been nice if they released a card with drivers that don't have these issues.
So basically that they test for these kinds of problems before they release the card...
Although I get what your trying to point out, why is it that it is normal in the computer industry that you have to accept going through a 'test' phase as an early adopter?
Think about any other industry and it would seem silly, for instance take the car industry, would it be 'normal' if you...
People really...read what's being said, this has nothing to do with Sapphire, Asus or whatever other brand using AMD chips.
This is an AMD problem, and they confirmed it's a driver issue. It seems it's a driver in combination with certain batches of the 290 chips though, but still it's a...
Good, lets hope they find the 'cure' soon ;)
Apparently there's going to be a new driver by the end of the week:

This appears to be happening to me as well, I seem to be able to play older games just fine, but newer games like BF4 give me the black screen problem.
This looks to me like it's not hardware related, unless it is something in the hardware relating to direct-x version.
Keep in mind I have...
I work at a local computer shop so that shouldn't be a problem, we do RMA's quite regurlarly ;)
I only bought the card last week so I can wait for a bit to see how things work out.
I don't know how to see it, both HWiNFO and GPU-Z are only showing me GPU temp no VRM temps
The video's on youtube indeed have a similar sound, but mine is there even when idle and it's even higher than those.
I wonder if it even would be picked up by a camera.
I might RMA the card as you said, but I'm just going to wait to see if it has any link to the problem in this thread, because...
