what i have read indicates that it should be some tool that allows other people to remotely manage your RAID - something like that; i understood it was useless
i must say the the AMD RAID manager options are very thin..
right. this thread is just what i need.
i purchased this board last weekend. 4GB of 800MHz RAM, 9950 BE Phenom, and a RAID 5 config with 4 320GB discs. and a Corsair modular 550W PSU & an Saphire HD4850.
i was couragous enough to install Vista on it, as i wanted to pass the 4GB limit in...
iv replaced my power suply 3 months agao also, for the exact same reason: high whistling tone from power suply. took me like 2 weeks to figure that out (thought it was one of the fans for a long time)
just a remark: why would you want to put 4 GB RAM in when XP can never work with 4GB RAM ? it *could* theoretically, but it never does, since a lot of hardware devices "reserve" a direct adress space in the RAM for faster access, thus reducing your total RAM.
you may wanna try with 3GB, as it...
yea thats right, i have quite some options on my DTT3500 (four speakermode, Dolby Prologic, etc)
However, when a Dolby Digital stream is detected, a special indicator light is lit - this is why i know that the DDL mobo stuff actually works.

thanks for the reply Kingofheroes.
the EAX 2.0 is really a show stopper as far as im concerned :-/ besides, i live in Brussels (how sad can it get?) and there is only Creative widely available here. some shops have Auzentech though, im trying to track one down...
further on the research...
since auzentech isnt really easy to find in stock in stores, how about this one?
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=17927
the auzentech is a bit cheaper but requires ordering period of 4/5 days (you know how it is when you want something :-) )...
i just deciphered a small part of the puzzle; in the gigabyte website it clearly indicates support for Dolby Home Theater, which has DDL incoporated in it (which is why i was hoping)
now i found one of those dodgy (see note 3) lines..it turns out the Dolby Home Theater is onlt supported in...
