Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I know waiting is hard (These kinds of posts are frequent) but Intel is pushing the release date forward and will soon release samples to review sites. So you will be able to see the diffrence among the different models very soon, perhapse a month from now.
Where did you see that quote? Also why would they allow anand to get into the intel setups bios and tweak memory timings then and also update the amd rig and rerun benchmarks?
But my post was directed to the person who Will beleve some guy on a blog who "guesses" at what a processor is...
If you want to believe some dude on a blog that hates Intel with a passion then sure.
All those "meaningful benchmarks" have been posted at places like Anandtech and TR for quite some time from Spring IDF.
Well If you are looking for bang for the buck then 805 would be my go. You said you are looking at AM2 or Conroe therefore you can keep the ddr2 memory you will use for the 805 for both conroe or AM2 later in the year. 3000+ to 2.5 is a lofty goal without very good cooling. 2.3 or 2.4 would be...

Again, for those intrested.
Same deal as the TR review (many diff cpus tested, games, bench prog) but with other applications such as media encoding, 3DS max, maya, Apache server, etc and they overclock it.
Just to let the people who are intrested and do not check TR often, they did a realworld test on yonah against many diffrent setups. Very nice results even though the MB they used sucked imo. Should give you another view of what we can expect from merom and conroe...
Oh and if you are intrested, here are some links to a story on the Clovertown (4 core) chip.
its a early ES chip at 2.0ghz.

I would probaly never use a 4 core chip but it would...
Oh cool another generic FPS, yay! Seriously, I used to love FPS games but now the whole gene is stale. Seems like 80% of PC games released are FPS. Wheres the diversification!
I guess I am just not excited anymore.... unless this game offers something new?
A little off topic but do you think Apple computers will be the first to use Conroe or Woodcrest? I am thinking of the new PowerMac or whatever they will call it. Perhapse one with dual CPU sockets :) ?
