Gizmodo was involved in activities that might have been deemed illicit. And they are cooperating, aren't they? I don't see the issue. Most of the information that led to this came from sources other than Gizmodo anyway.
For all operators? He must have gotten a message then. I can't see how he has any claim that he doesn't owe to the phone company. :)
My problem with the phone companies is they don't make it clear enough to most people what data is, why and how you get charged for it and ways you can manage...
It's probably confusing to some people. Data roaming should not be possible by default. There's probably plenty of people that go through this and with all the carrier deals and how they handle who is roaming and who isn't is odd to say the least.

A lot of people complain about her music, but I think they don't care for her image more than anything. She's got some pretty catchy lines and for pop music, it's pretty hip. Regardless of what one thinks of her music and image, she is interesting.
This could be a good idea if they could detect zombie puters or malicious traffic. I'm not sure it's really possible really, but it wouldn't be a good idea to block them. Perhaps if you simply sent them a warning or phone call to tell them they need to get their computer looked at. It's awfully...
