    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

Interesting.. I re-installed Windows 7 and my GTX 460 temperatures dropped. Here's what the temps were like at first: After Windows 7 re-install, the temps are like this: In-game BC2: 69C @ 69% fan speed Over 5 hours of gamplay, no problems. A big difference, and my case definitely felt...

The ST45SF (450W PSU) is still available at newegg.com. I bought mine there a month ago: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256063&Tpk=silverstone%20450w

I would like to see other people's temperature results with MSI Cyclone GTX 460 1GB (725MHz) and with EVGA GTX 460 1GB Superclocked (768MHz). Should overclock both cards to 800MHz, the same level as the Palit GTX 460 Sonic Platinum. I'll run a better benchmark with my Palit if needed. Maybe the...

EDIT: SEE NEXT PAGE FOR TEMPERATURE UPDATE Temp results with Palit GTX 460 1GB Sonic Platinum: Idle: 67C @ 40% fan speed (that's the lowest possible fan speed) In-game (BC2 with graphic settings cranked all the way up): 81C @ 70% fan speed Note that this card was already factory...

Here are a couple pictures of the Palit GTX 460 1GB Sonic Platinum in the case. I 'shopped in the green dotted outline. The card is damned SMALL. Much smaller than the standard ATI 5770 I had. Fits real easy. No problems with the Silverstone 450W PSU. I haven't tried the stock 300W PSU...

Pictures of the stock 300W PSU (silver) and 450W PSU (black): Nothing special, just posting. Hoping to install my GTX 460 tonight and will report back if I have any problems.

Heh, with this week's promotion, this GTX 470 is $270, only $20 more than the pre-overclocked GTX 460 that I ordered recently...

Yeah the Nvidia GTS 250 and ATI 5770 already feels hot in my SG05. For now I went ahead and ordered this GTX 460 for $250 w/ free shipping (it just restocked 30 minutes ago): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261076 I will return the 5770 that I had for only a week. It...

The GTX 460 is backordered until Tuesday so I have some time to decide. I can get this GTX 480 locally for $420 (normal $510): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130551 It's 10.5" long. Too big for the SG05 case? GTX 480 requires a 600W PSU  Think my Silverstone...

Also debating on getting the GTX 470 for $100 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130549 ... however they recommend a 550W PSU (the 450W may be OK, but no guarantees) and people are commenting on how HOT the GTX 470 is, whereas people comment how cool the GTX 460 is...

Thinking of buying this overclocked Palit GTX 460 today ($250): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261076 It appears to be the fastest 460 with good cooling (quieter than EVGA) and the negative reviews (about VRM heatsinks) are unwarranted. Non-overclocked Palit GTX 460...

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

You're right about the GTX 460. A pretty remarkable difference in power consumption and temperature: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-460-gf104-fermi,2684-13.html It only consumes a little more than a 5770. The GTX 470 is a power hungry beast @ almost 100W higher. Damn, son...

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

I received the Silverstone 450W PSU for my SG05. If you guys want me to test a GTX 465 with the stock PSU before I upgrade to the 450W PSU, I can probably do it. I tried both MSI GTS 250 and ATI Radeon 5770 video cards. The 5770 seems to handle low FPS better but it runs 73C stock during gaming...
