Your BIOS is set to give you a warning if the CPU fan is below an RPM. I have a P8P67 Pro, and was able to disable the annoying warning in the BIOS. Check your BIOS to see if you can do the same.
I don't have my case open right now, but I'm very sure that the RAM are in the 2nd and 4th slots (as recommended by Asus). Again, everything runs fine as long as you're okay with the fan sitting on top of the heat spreader. I think you'll be fine
:)
I'm using a Scythe Mugen with G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x4 gb RAM. With two sticks of RAM with head spreaders, you should be okay. The only thing is that if you position the fan to "push" air toward the back, it'll be sitting on top of one of the memory sticks. Mine is like that, and everything...
Can you comment on how easy it is to install the Hyper 212+? For my build, I am using the Scythe Mugen 2 which has worked great (until swapping boards, that is) to keep the temp low when I OC. But man, it is a PITA to install. I had to get help from the wife to hold the board upside down...
Finally got around to swapping out the old Asus P8P67 Pro last night with the new B3 version. As mentioned by others previously, the board works perfectly fine with Windows 7. At first boot into Windows, it gave a prompt to re-activate itself online. I didn't need to call Microsoft or...
Wow calm down. I understand that you're hot for a replacement, but I'm pretty sure that ASUS is in CA and right now it's only 7:30am. They'll get to you eventually ;)
Honestly guys, it's hard but let's show some patience here. :)
I received the e-mail too, but I'm still debating whether it's worth pulling off everything to send the board back.
I'll be very curious to know how many people end up returning their boards.
Tested the card using a friend's computer-- no power. Also borrowed a spare card to test in mine and it booted up. So it's not the PSU, it's the card itself. Very weird. But at least now I know to RMA the card and not the PSU.
Thanks for the help everyone.
That's why I immediately thought that the PSU went bad and was confused when the computer powered up fine without the card.
Unfortunately, I don't have a spare card or computer to run the test at home but I'll take it to a friend's house.
Assuming that it's the PSU, should I try to RMA...
Anyone had this happen that can help me out? Apologies in advance if my explanation is confusing and/or wordy:
Late last night, while playing Titan Quest (of all things), my 2 weeks old computer suddenly shut off without warning. No smoke, no pop, no smell, nothing. It was as if someone...
