Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
If you intend to overclock your RAM and up the voltage on those ballistix sticks past 3.2v I would suggest a different motherboard. You will fry your RAM using the 5v jumper on the SLI-DR, or youll get nailed with cold boot issues. You can see my related thread here...
The real world tests tell all. SM 3 done right or not without the software to make the comparison it doesnt matter.
Furthermore even if the X1K line of cards does perform on par with 7800's, where the ball was dropped on ATI's behalf was with the Crossfire implementation. I mean a cable...
Yeah ironically when I was planning this rig I couldnt decide between the Asus A8N SLI or the DFI SLI-DR.
So I hit the review sites, and every one of them I read said the Asus was a great board, but that the DFI was better, and the benchmarks proved it.
Like I said in my OP though, its...
I just RMA'd my board and RAM back to DFI and OCZ respectively. 45 bucks for priority overnight. I dont want to wait around without a PC.
All I know is if I get another board back with the same problematic shit going on, im going to request a refund, in the most unpleasant way possible.
If you go with DFI's NF4 boards its a crapshoot. You might get a good board, you might not. When the system works its amazing, (*WHEN*). If YOU DO decide to go with DFI. I cannot recommend strongly enough to NOT USE Corsair ram. 90% of the complaints on the DFI boards regarding mobo problems...
Hehe funny, I was a corsair fan until I tried OCZ.
The issue isnt the RAM, its the board. The RAM is flat out awesome, i can get tighter timings with my VX gold than I ever got with any of my corsair. I will still use Corsair, but doubtfully for a gaming rig, I have to admit its some reliable...
Haha! As an addition to this rant I complimented dfi-street.com earlier for their excellent support. I would like to take a moment to clarify this. For the most part the users on this forum are extremely helpful and insightful, unfortunately its moderated by a total douchebag under the monicker...
Hehe I have this motherboard powering my linux web/php and mysql servers. It even survived a housefire in which all my other PC's were severely damaged or destroyed.
What good does AMD overclocking do if you're voltage limited (at best) on the most popular and powerful performance and overclocking lines of ram out there.
Yay for what, a 2.7ghz fsb on an SD 4000+? I think I'll pass.
It's one thing to have obscure nagging compatibility problems. Its...
Those of you who have this desktop have you noticed that the spacebar is extremely insensitive, resulting in a lot of misplaced or skipped spaces? If so have you figured out a fix or a mod to the keyboard to fix the problem or am i just unlucky and need to contact Logitech for a replacement?
