I don't think slipstreaming Marvell drivers will help out on my case... I think it's hardware problem with my mobo and SM card. The system will not boot in AHCI and SM card installed, period!!! I sent a tech problem ticket to Asus and still have not heard back from them. So, I looked...
Interesting... When I first setup WHS, I did slipstream the AHCI drivers into the USB. I setup bios for AHCI and booted with single OS drive from USB. WHS installed without any problems. After booting, checked the system and AMD AHCI drive is active and works okay. When I install the SASLP...
I got the 4220 case about 3 weeks ago from Newegg and it is the new model/version. I'm sure it'll be newer version of the 4020 as well. The case was shipped directly from City of Industry... where Norco is based. :)
I just got the SASLP-MV8 card and installed on my WHS build w/ Norco 4220 case. I'm using Asus M4A89GTD PRO mobo and setup the bios in AHCI mode. I've installed WHS with just the OS drive and AMD AHCI driver. I installed the card in PCI-Ex16 slot1 (no drives attached to it) and boot the...
Q regarding the rear fans in the 4220... these are really really loud. I was gonna replace the 4 mid fans with the 120mm fans so, can I replace the rear fans with 80mm PWM fans and hook it up to the mobo pwm pins? Will it have sufficient airflow using the PWM fans?

I didn't hook up any sas cables to the backplane nor had any drives in it. I was just testing the system out to make sure all the backplanes are working. Read numerous times that the backplane(s) could be bad... Looks like I have to call Norco on monday since no one's answering the...

Yes, I am using a modular PSU and using the cables that came with the PSU. Wiring looks messy to hook up all the backplanes. Need to clean it up when I get a chance... granted that the backplanes work. Tried calling Norco today but looks like they are closed. =[
Some pics of bad...
Well... I got the norco 4220 case and finally set up the system. Few problems though... the backplanes will not power up and one of the backplane started to smoke!!! I pulled the power cable out to shut off the system. Gahh!!! Luckily I didn't have any drives in the system other than the OS...
Woah... Nice. 120mm bracket for a buck? I was thinking about getting one of those but does it really matter? I read in few forums that 80mm fans that came stock gets better airflow but loud as heck! The case will be in the office room so noise isn't really much of a problem. Just got the...
Ahhh... I figured as much as I was reading this thread regarding ZFS. Well... so far, I've only have 2 HD's that are the same size so I'll continue to use WHS atm. I'll eventually switch over to ZFS as I get more 2 TB hd's.
