Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Ok, I would rather not ruin some new hardware with a bad power supply. I'll budget for something new. I'll find something that has "haswell support". For my fairly basic needs, how much power is necessary? Would something around 500-650W be ok?
Microcenter is only 30min away, so I can easily...
Thanks! Yes the card I have now is PCI-E. Though, with the advances since it came out, is it possible that on board video would be better than the old card?
It looks like I can pick up a decent 4th gen i5, a mobo, a 128 or 256 SSD, 8gig RAM, and a fresh Win8.1 license for ~600.
I built my current PC ~6 years ago and it is in bad need of an upgrade. Here is what I currently have, I would like to salvage as much as makes sense to save some $.
- Lian Li PC7B case (nice case I'd like to reuse it)
- ASUS A8N-SLI mobo and AMD X2 CPU
- 250GB WD caviar SE16 7200rpm SATA...
Thanks! What was spec'd for ~$800 seems pretty nice. That is around the price range I was hoping to be at.
In terms of price vs performance, is AMD the way to go for this?
I want to build a home server and am looking for some help.
Home Server. Storing movies, pictures, music, etc. It will be used to stream to a PS3 and backup data from my main PC. It needs some horsepower to do some transcoding during streaming, and some ripping of music/movies. I'm thinking of...
I'd like to know about this too. I have the same mobo and would like to change the chipset fan speed to make it a little less noisy, but Speedfan doesn't seem to be able to control it even though it is a 3 wire fan.
My MB temp has stayed below 30C so far, but I do have all the covers off since I'm not finished cabling. I'll probably call ASUS for a new fan.
I've read some other options are a fan speed controller to keep the fan speed lower, or put on a passive heatsink. I'm just worried that the temps...
I just built up my first rig in a long time, and I used a new ASUS A8N-SLI mobo. The chipset fan is pretty loud. It sometimes it buzzes around 6000 rpm. Is this normal, should I look into a new fan? Also, what motherboard temps are acceptable?
Just a FYI to those looking for a eVGA 7900GT CO. Tiger direct has them in stock for 319. It is a $20 premium, but I can't find it anywhere else in stock.
I ordered one from monarch several days ago, but it won't ship until over a week after I ordered it, so I am cancelling and getting it...
The eVGA mobo combo is only $50 more than the card alone, while the ASUS mobo is 160 or so.
The combo is definitely a better deal, but I thought that if I bought the eVGA alone, I could use the step-up program in a month to get a 7900gt or gtx for cheap. I'm not sure if you can use the...
I have almost the exact same system spec'd out for my new rig.
The only other option I was considering is getting the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard and not buying the 7800GT/mobo combo.
