Yes, I am reusing her current dvd drive and psu, as well as the case and monitors. I'll edit the OP. The version of windows is windows 7 pro.
It costs me about 7 cents/mile to drive, and I don't really mind spending the time driving. I also have a friend at the store who will price match...
I already have a copy of windows 7 I can use. Why the corsair over the samsung? My primary desire in an SSD is longevity.
Keep in mind that she is currently trying to use photoshop / illustrator on the following:
e5200 @ 3.4
2gb ddr2
msi 9800gt
corsair VX550
samsung spinpoint f3 500gb...

Really. I mean, I can understand passion but, this isn't a kid who doesn't buy anything. I had just said he bought bf3 in the beginning of the thread.
And yes, it really was a friend of mine.
It was an overclock that had gone bad over time. Ran 4.0 for about a year, and it somehow became unstable. Rolled it back to stock settings and furmark runs fine.
Thanks for the help.
Thank you for your very helpful reply. I am not encouraging what he's done, in fact I would say you're right saying he got what he deserved. But, the issue still stands.
Hello
I have a friend who bought a GTX 570 about two weeks ago for the express purpose of playing BF3. For those two weeks, it ran great. He was playing it daily, as well as dabbling in all the other games he had been playing. He was upgrading from an XFX 9800GTX+, so it was quite the...
I'm not totally decided on lenses, but I'm considering the 70-300mm and the 35mm f/1.8 or the 50mm f/1.4, or maybe all three, depending on what I ultimately spend on the camera. Trying to keep the total under $2k, but I'd like a decent zoom lens and a fast prime.
I'm debating between two DSLR models . . . the Nikon D90 or the D3100. After narrowing my selection down to just these two models, I've been reading reviews for days and I can't seem to make a solid decision.
In head-to-head comparisons, the D90 comes out just ahead and doesn't have the same...
Yes, my VTT is also low, but I think that's why my vcore has to be high to achieve stability. My settings are as follows:
>>Advanced Voltage Settings
Load Line Calibration: Disabled
CPU Vcore: 1.35000V
QPI/VTT Voltage: 1.150V
PCH Core: 1.050V
CPU PLL: 1.800V
DRAM Voltage: 1.560V

Yeah. If he was putting it up more, hopefully it wasn't much past 1.375v, the recommended safe maximum voltage. 1.35 is working just fine for me, though, 24/7.
Think he's saying that he doesn't think it needs 1.35v, as he just started OCing it. My understanding is he put it way high in order to get a high overclock and plans to step the voltage down soon. I think.
