    The way I understood it was the x58 has 40 lanes total. 36 out of the x58 NB and "4" via DMI to the SB. I am trying to figure out if ASUS has connected the USB 3 and sata 6gbps through the NB or the ICH10R SB. If it is the latter I see some possible future issues with a bottleneck in the DMI...

    Has anyone determined if ASUS has the SATA 6 gbps and USB 3 connected through the NB or the SB on the X58? Lots of info on the P55 PLX chip but I havent been able to figure out the x58 connection. It would be nice to have it through the NB to avoid any future DMI bottlenecks.

    First Post. My setup. 2 17" dells with a 24" Soyo hanging on a home built mount made from $30 worth of parts from home depot. System is a dell Q6600 on loan from my brother while I build a new I7 rig replacing my 8 year old P4.
