That was honestly weird. No one goes on vacation the same time their major product releases.

It's not it is based on facts and history. No company is going to launch a product with all of its performance enhancing capabilities disabled. That is nonsensical. You only get one launch and you are going to put your best foot forward. It is rare to see a driver grant 10% performance increases...

You have all the facts of real capability in front of you. What it is now is its real capability anything else does not exists. No driver is going to unlock untapped potential en-mass.

That was my point. We are more likely to see more LED HDR displays first.

Screen burn in. The reason you are less likely to see a monitor anytime soon is screen burn in. A tv or even a phone screen rarely sits on a static image but a desktop can have static images sit on them for extended periods of time.

Completely out of my ass guess here, but I think they where blindsided by Pascals performance. If we look at what Vega is you realize it sacrifices cooling and power to go toe to toe with the GTX 1080, but when you you use the lower power bios and under-volt Vega suddenly it drops power and heat...

I think all of that is wishful thinking. Lets just accept Vega for what it is an overclocked Fiji with extra math capabilities. I don't think there will be a driver that magically unlocks all of these features. if it existed AMD would have launched with it. You only get one launch.

It will rely on game Devs to program. Bethesda, so far, has been the only major PC gaming company to go all in on Radeon, so their future games will be the ones to watch to see how much of a difference that makes.

Not too surprising as even AMD stated 3 billion of those extra transistors went to improving clock speeds.

A search bar made it unique to you? I've been running the nightly build of FF57 and I think it is great. A true Chrome alternative that is pretty fast. The only downside is obviously losing lots of addon support, but hopefully that will be rectified with addon authors updating their extensions...

It just seems odd that they would not default to the lower power profile considering it seams to run much better and use considerably less juice.

Maybe that just goes to show Vega was allready running at its max capabilities.

It is an odd review and the cooling alone should give it a small but noticable bump
