A few of the newegg reviews complained of only 1 dimm slot working. 1 guy gave up and just used 2 gigs, another "messed with it" and got it working.
His computer originally only had 2 gigs, and it was one thing I told him he should improve when he took it in to get working with 3 monitors...
PC Check sounds a lot like AIDA64 (old everest) I'll put some of the report below.
Motherboard:
CPU Type DualCore AMD Athlon II X2 245, 2900 MHz (14.5 x 200)
Motherboard Name MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 (MS-7309)...
I don't know what PC Check or DFT are. I think I have some old 1 gig sticks laying around but they might be a bit outdated.
I have some software, AIDA64, if that helps. Is there a certain test# I can restrict memtest to so it doesn't take 12 hours to complete? Something I read said 4-6 passes...
I've put together a couple systems a few years back but am kind of lost to do on this one. My dad got someone else to make him a system and it often locks up, screens go black and such, sometimes requiring a reboot.
This is the motherboard in it: MSI K9N6PGM2-V2
At first he had the shop...
Thanks. Somehow I was thinking it wasn't as simple as bumping up gamma to 1.4 and I would want an ICC profile, but what I know is obviously nothing =)
I don't even have Nvidia control panel like that ATM, but should be able to figure out where to get it.
My wife is an up and coming wedding...
Cool, I will be back later. That's great if just having an ICC profile is enough. The digitalversus article said this is the same panel as the 2380M, but I read somewhere here that the black crush was fixed in MX. I think I am losing ~5% of the lowest blacks.
BTW, I am running this in VGA with...
I got one of these lightly used, no dead pixels for $190 + shipping and am pretty happy with it. I know some people don't like even the newer iterations of F2380, but considering the junk I was coming from it is a big step up.
I'm following NCX's settings for the MX version here except with...
F2380M is Europe only. I found a discounted F2380 so might pull the trigger on it unless someone talks me out of it. Just reading some other threads on it here now. It looks like it has some problem which can be solved, though I don't have a calibrator.
I figured it out and I was wrong... I was thinking about the Samsung F2380M which gets a great review from digitalversus.com
I can't find that actually for sale anywhere though, just the F2380. It is 1080 but maybe I don't actually need that extra width when in portrait anyhow.
I plan on running the first in landscape alone and want it to be 1900x1200. I need it to be able to rotate as I plan on later maybe making it portrait with a landscape (bigger) monitor. From this list, it looks like the smallest 1900x1200 is 24" -- so I would probably have to pair that with a...
Sorry if my post wasn't clear. I actually DO want a 30" IPS, I just don't know if/when I will ever spring for it. I don't think I want something as small as your 17" for use in the meantime, but thanks for the advice anyhow. What sort of 1900x1200 monitor would work with another (whatever type...
