Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Agreed. I am pretty sure Intel can pull off faster CPUs than they have on the market, similarly to what they did with Coppermine and were holding well till Prescott fiasco.
As a very basic thing, about half of 6700K die is GPU, so Intel certainly can release Kaby Lake 8-core for 170/270...
This is second brutal AMD fail in a row in UE4. I wonder, what grief has Sweeney with AMD, that Epic ignores AMD so much?
But then, I will be devil's advocate here: minimum specs for Rift and Vive are GTX 970 AND Radeon 290. And they are here for a reason - so that users know they will have...
This kind of reminds me of early AotS benchmarks. Half-a-year prior to release, 1060 being like 2x as fast as 480 and faster than FuryX - makes no sense without using SMP. With AotS, by release, nVidia closed the performance gap to where it roughly should be. The difference might be that this...
I was making similar decision half-a-year ago, only with 970 vs. 380. Oh, and I asked before I made the purchase ;).
I went for 970, as the performance gap is so high, that it overpowers benefits of FreeSync. Even with 1080p, 970 does not guarantee minimum framerates over 60 in latest games...
Consoles are in separate segment (Enterprise, Embedded and Semi-Custom). And I counted only relevant segment revenue (Computing and Graphics).
Unfortunately for us, AMD lumps together CPUs, APUs and GPUs for consumer and professional markets in on segment. If you own AMD share(s) (one is...
Actually, when I compared financials ... It does not seem to be like it.
Q4/15 AMD (ends 26 Dec 2015) vs Q4/16 nVidia (ends 25 January 2016), so very comparable periods. I will make a few assumptions:
nVidia: Taking only Gaming market revenue
AMD: Taking 50% of Computing and Graphics Revenue...
With $350, I would:
- Wait for custom AIB 480s and 1060s and pick between them. That will probably ease your wallet by some $270-300
- Use rest of cash for additional 8GB RAM
- Or up the ante and go for 1070
I would love to see 1060 vs. 480 in custom AIB face-off, like Asus Strix 1060 vs. 480, MSI Gaming, Gigabyte or whoever gives both vendors equal chance.
8GB vs. 6GB is largely discussion about textures. As long as you have enough VRAM, you can typically improve texture quality with minimum performance impact. RoTR specifically cannot run well with less than 6GB with the highest texture setting. This applies to 1080p as well.
In order to have...
It seems to me that nVidia is going for the kill ... with AMD getting cornered 3dfx style. They would probably get more profits from pushing more 1080s and 1070s to the market, but now they will divert their TSMC allocation to produce cheaper 1060s to ruin the RX480 launch. I suppose getting rid...
I am wondering why so many think that people buying $200 GPU also buy cheap mobos. Also it does not mean these people do not do research and/or do not get advice from educated friends/relatives. You can find plenty quality mobos in $100-$150 range. And it is common wisdom not to skimp on...
As someone, who is not electrical engineer, I would be greatly interested in explanation why very frequent spikes occuring all the time that break the spec almost twice are not dangerous at all, just because the average happens to be within spec.
Looking at fuses at my mother-in-law place...
This had to be known to AMD pre-release, and I wonder why they went for it. They should have known THG does this kind of testing that would reveal it.
Using 6-pin just for marketing reasons seems very, very strange to me. Most people do not care, and they could easily defend it pre-release...
Actually, OEMs will first test, whether thier systems are stable and working as intended. And since OEMs typically use so-so components to cut down price, I am sure it would be the Dells, HPs and Lenovos out there, who would raise first red flag on RX480 not meeting specification. At stock...
