I'm running Eye One Display 2 with Vista 32bit without problems. DisplayProfile is a nice utility to swap profiles on the fly in Vista (available from GretagMcBeth for free, as best I can remember).
I would suggest picking up a calibration device (I use Eye One Display 2) and calibrate all three monitors and then make a comparison. The out of the box brightness on the 20 inch is quite a bit brighter than the 30. Heck, I had a 2407 that would not calibrate down to the 120cd even with...
I must admit, it doesn't take a lot to get me confused, but I actually do understand this area (:) I think?) and do agree with you on the general take about color gamut. The only reason I posted is for those that use their monitors a lot for photography and feel due to this thread that there is...
I had the same concern about blacks, since I was going from the 2407 to the 3007HC. After calibrating with Eye One Display 2, I can't really see any difference between the two. I really am pleased with the 3007.
I have watched this thread with interest and some amusement for the last several days. I moved up to a 3007WFP-HC from a 2407FWP and the difference is phenomenal. I used Eye One Display 2 to calibrate both. Most of the work I do is in Lightroom which apparently utilizes the wider color gamut...
Another thing to consider is the advance replacement warranty that Dell offers. Im not trying to push Dell, I have a lot more HP stock than I do Dell, its just that Dell offers the most bang for the buck for me. The opinions concerning the difference in build quality are usually referring to...
Calibrating is very, very easy. There are several good options to choose from with Eye One Display 2 and Sypder probably being the most common on this board. I cant speak for the Sypder software, but the Eye-One Match 3 which comes with the Eye One Display 2 is basically click and go. Since...
VE2007,
I have the 3007WFP-HC Rev A02 and am very pleased with the monitor. I do not have any buzzing sound and I have zero dead pixels. The picture quality out of the box is great, but after calibration (Eye One Display 2) it is absolutely outstanding. I made a comment in a prior thread...
Zorn,
My only concern is the noticeable amount of light bleed on the lower corners and the top center. Every other aspect of the monitor is great.
When did you receive your A02 revision?
Pop
Its finally here!!!
First impression is good. There is some light bleed along the bottom left and right, but not horrible. It could well settle out after the screen has been set up for a while. The colors are fantastic after I calibrated with Eye One Display 2.
I received a Rev A02, which...
