I'd like to run dual Korean 27" 1440p monitors off of an Intel NUC with HD 5000 IGP. Can any Korean monitors with "Multi" connection do 1440p via the HDMI input? Or is the HDMI input usually capped at 1080p on the Ad boards?
Are there any 27" Korean monitors which have VESA wall mount and you don't have to disassemble the monitor to remove the stand completely? The Samsung PLS 27" monitors are the price leaders right now, but require disassembling the monitor to get the stalk of the stand off.
What's the most cost-effective adapter to connect a new Mac Mini to one of these monitors?
Apple makes a dual-link DVI adapter, but it's $100 and doesn't get good reviews. Is it just not a reliable solution regardless of what adapter is used?
I take it a store that offers a "perfect pixel" option means the other ones they sell are confirmed rejects. As in, when the ebay listing says it's been tested, they mean they've taken out the perfect pixel ones to sell for higher.:p
How do you know if you get hit with import tax (for US)? Is it requested by shipping courier upon delivery, or requested later in the mail? If it's based on what the seller fills out, which are the preferred sellers?
Thanks! My impression was if they were somehow able to throw in speakers into a casing that didn't look designed with speakers in mind, it's gotta sound pretty bad.
How do you know if it's hardware-adjusted or just software-adjusted thru color profile?
I know some calibrators are capable of that...just not sure if the i1dp is one of them. I've never seen my i1dp be able to do hardware adjustments on the monitor itself.
By the way, did you notice a...
If someone happens to have gotten any of these 27" monitors (Shimian, Catleap, etc.) with built-in speaker, how is the sound quality? I'm looking for 'business-class' sound for office use, so it's more about space-saving than sounding great. I've been fine with built-in speakers from HP and Acer...
Is it really that good? All the ones I've used make a buzzing noise (varies with brightness), and I've had a heck of a time calibrating it with my X-Rite i1Display2 Pro. The color curve looks pretty bad compared to other IPS (including 6-bit eIPS) monitors I've calibrated, and I get a complete...
Audio quality probably gets even worse if the monitor got thinner with the LED backlighting, lol. Thanks for the tip. Now I have an LG and NEC to choose from - likely they use the same panel?
Thanks for pointing that out. I had looked at that screen previously and didn't realize it had built-in speakers since it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the product description and didn't see any indication of it in the pictures. But found some reviews talking about the sound.
