This is just my 2c... but calibration for me is purely about trying to get true colours so that your print output matches what you see on your display. So dropping a few $$$ on a large printed canvas it is quite critical. Playing games and watching movies, as long as the output looks good to...

As I understand it your graphics card affects the result so the default profile will look different across PCs? Might want to drop a post on the TFTC forums.

Again, I'd refer you to the review. Simon at TFTC knows far more than I could ever give you insight into. It'd be pretty impressive to get those results by chance and I'd like to believe it was a special 'review sample', either. Sample variance will always be an issue in all aspects of...

I haven't hardware calibrated mine to compare, so impossible to say right now. However I will be doing this over the weekend so I'll post back when I do. The way I see it though - you're either the type who owns/will buy a calibrator, in which case it's pretty irrelevant, or you're the type...

So you'll continue to hold out for the perfect screen, presumably at a similar price point? If those minor things are so critical to put you off what is possibly the most well-rounded screen at anything close to this price point in years, then I can only imagine you're doing...

Oh wow, Simon said this would be a little while as he had another review to do first. Considering the depth of his reviews and the amount of writing required, I'm surprised he got this out the door so fast! Nervously going to go read the review now... definitely need to donate to the site...

Took some photos tonight. This post might not appeal to all as it's more about how I decided to set them up than the Dell monitors themselves. I do mostly photo editing, freelance work and web browsing. No gaming or movies. [Photo taken in daylight] First up, my Dell 2007FP 1600x1200 4:3 IPS...

I used to use a USB hub on the desk but my 2.0 speaker set and amp has a USB in so I just use that. At work I just run a USB extension lead down to the tower.

Mine was just cropped a little as I used awesome screenshot for quickness, so it's the size of my browser window, but it is 1:1 for text size comparison.

Here it is, but obviously you can increase text sizes across various apps and Windows itself. Never had a 27" but I came from a Dell 2007FP 20" 1600x1200 and finding this no problem to use.
