Sony Blocks Online Play On Used Games

Ah, but here's the rub: the online play has already been paid for. Think about it, once the game is sold the second time, the first buyer can no longer play that game on Sony's servers. They *paid* for unlimited access, right? I mean, if they kept the game for two years, and played the 1's and...

Live Coverage of the Apple Event

Meh, I've never understood the appeal anyway. If i'm going to carry something around that doesn't fit into my pocket, I'm going to carry a full laptop. Why do I need a netbook or a tablet? I'm going to have to have a backpack or slingbag to carry them anyway, and my laptop fits into my bags...

Live Coverage of the Apple Event

Here's a funny thing: when Balmer showed off the HP Slate a couple of weeks ago, everybody yawned. Go back and compare it with the iPad now. If the Slate comes out and has USB, a 1.8" updgradable drive, stylus support, and a competitive price point, it turns out to be a much more...

Wait, if there's no way to capture signatures and easily integrate with a POS terminal, even sales could really only use it as a presentation device to show customers or look stuff up.

Live Coverage of the Apple Event

Business or sales? Sales people, yeah, I could see that. Business: nope. You'd have to carry too many peripherals to make it useful. You might as well carry a laptop by that point, because it'd be much more useful. This is nowhere near as functional as a laptop. Name one good reason to...

They are idiots if they really didn't include pen support and a way to interface this with desktop apps like Photoshop. Do you realize that this would KILL Wacom? But no, they just made a giant ipod touch. Swing and a miss... P.

Teen Runs Up Dad's Cell Bill to $22k

Disclaimer : I'm a VZW employee in a department completely unrelated to billing, sales, or customer service, so the following comments are mine and mine only, and in no way constitute an "official" reply. That said, as a VZW customer, I know of at least three ways to check usage ad hoc, and...

The World’s Best and Worst Places To Live

Do you have BMW and MB's? Because both of those put out more CO2 than the average GM or Ford. Remember, Ford owns Volvo and part of Aston Martin and Mazda, and used to own Jaguar and Land Rover. GM owns (or did until recently) Opel, Vauxhaul, and SAAB. Just to point out that "American"...

    Good Dell Latitude E5500 deal?

The Quadro cards aren't for gaming, they are optimized for OpenGL for CAD and that sort of thing. The newest version of Photoshop can now use the card for acceleration also. Oh, and they support CUDA, I believe. Plus, you sometimes get better versions of Vista on the used models. P.

    Good Dell Latitude E5500 deal?

Not bad, but you might check the outlet store if you want a great deal. I've got one (E6500, actually), and I got a much better deal than that. IIRC, I spent under $1k and had a faster processor, 1900x1200 CCFL, dock, 9 cell, and a Quadro card instead of onboard graphics. You still get warranty...
