Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Yeah, I intend to use mdadm.
Anyways, I have kind of switched my goal with this NAS. I don't intend to keep on living at my current location and might just leave my continent so then I would put my NAS in Leaseweb datacenter and use it there as fileserver and seedbox. But I would then also like...
Thanks for taking the time to list these parts, they look good. I might go with the AMD equivalent though, gonna link some things I stumbled upon tonight.
Which PSU should I get for this? I want either the Seasonic X-650 or X-850. I guess the X-850 might be needed for futureproofness, but i...
where can i get this 120mm fan bracket?
Interesting topic, I am going to build a NAS with the 4224, stuffed with 3TB hitachis, and I intend to make it as silent as possible.
I need some help speccing my NAS. Case will be the Norco RPC-4224. Wanna put 3TB Hitachi Deskstars in there. I want it to be silent as possible which might not be so easy but in order to try to keep it quiet I will get Nexus fans and probably the Thermalright Silver Arrow as heatsink+fans for my...
I wanna get a 3x1 landscape setup but I don't really know which monitor to get. First of all, I think I prefer x1200 resolution instead of all the 1080p ones. The syncmaster 2443BW is pretty cheap and has a x1200 resolution. Will the viewing angle on such a TN panel be wide enough for a 3x1...
The settings were already as shown above. Only thing diff was the last checkmark which I gave a try but since it didn't increase the speed I unmarked it again. Does anyone have any other tips? Having USB2.0 speeds would be bad enough but this is even slower..
I ran out of internal sata ports so before I'm getting my NAS I have gotten a new WD20EADS to hook up to an e-SATA port of my Asus P5K Premium. The esata cntroler is the JMicron JMB363.
It is however extremely fucking slow..like 4-15mB/sec transfer speed. I have already downloaded & installed...
I'm planning to get me one of these 2TB drives and since the reviews seem to be pretty good I'm almost certain that I want one.
But just to mke sure I'm making a post here for some personal opinions.
Are these 2TB hdds good? What are the cons?
Do they also suffer from a lot of disk failures...
Well I think I'm gonna order a 300$ raid controller then..I really wanna expand my raid5 array later on without having to format everything so I need a good controller.
What controller do you advise? Gonna google a bit
Last week I've bought 3 HDD's of 1TB and I wanted to put those in RAID5 with my onboard Intel ICH9R Southbridge RAID controller.
I selected the 3 terabyte disks and made a RAID5 array out of it but afterwards my Vista couldn't boot anymore. The OS is installed on a 500gb boot disk that's not in...
Oh..thanks for the link. That's a great price indeed. I don't really dare to pre-order but I will order the LG W2600HP-BF if it's a good screen. Let's hope so!
