Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
OP here, thanks for all the input. A bit more info about my setup - I'm only using 5040x1050 so my VRAM requirements aren't vast. Also the chance of me bothering with SLI/Crossfire is virtually nil so that's not a factor either.
@allen5055I've tried the process of switching the primary monitor...
I'm currently running eyefinity on my trusty radeon 5850 and I'm due an upgrade soon! I was waiting for the 680 to come out just so the price would drop on the new radeons, but now the geforces can do single-card surround I've got a choice on my hands.
I've had 2 problems with AMD so far...
Google around for programs like Ultramon which give you multi-monitor screensavers, desktops, taskbars, etc. I use ultramon but there are others with advantages and disadvantages too. Not free but worth it!
Isn't it fairly irrelevant, since the leak is dx9 and high settings aren't entirely there? Still, interesting I suppose. If you can find crysis 1 I'd love to see the results though!
Pc_user, Chas- Have you actually played on one?
People always moan about bezels on forums and youtube especially. When I did my eyefinity build, people watched me play on it and said the bezels ruined it. Once they sit in the middle and start playing themselves, it all makes sense.
Of...
Not sure which way the benchmarks would go, but I remember reading about the 5970 and maybe even the 4870x2 that because they share memory access in a more sophisticated way, the cards are kept in sync better than a normal crossfire solution. Raw performance is still lower of course because...
@heartlesssun- yeah, that was pretty much the sentiment I've heard around the webs. I may wait for Ivy bridge in that case so I can get intel instead.
@Vega- That would be awesome! Although if the 2GB recommended vram is true, then the 3GB 580s will definitely be needed. But alternatively, if...
@obliv- nice setup! I gotta say I prefer landscape myself, especially in games like just cause and crysis with the vast landscapes. Talking of which, I notice you said those performed poorly on your setup, and I play them LOTS, so they're pretty important to me. I wish Vega had benchmarked...
Cool, thanks. Are there any with two x16 lanes but not using nforce, so as to avoid the performance loss, however slight?
Yep, my 5850 has desktop tear line on all monitors, and on one monitor while ingame, and the dp loses signal too, but likewise i've never had GSOD. I can't overclock at...
Yeah, 1080p TN is enough of a dealbreaker for me. My monitors currently are old 1680*1050 TNs, which is fine but if I'm splashing out then I want better ones, particularly as eyefinity reveals bad viewing angles much more, even in landscape. I'll use it for normal PC work too, so I want 16:10...
