Sorry for quoting this, but if there's any situation in which the Envy 14 and the msi GX640 are made equivalent in both value and specs, could someone please link it? If not then that's fine, but this would be the ideal setup for me.

Is there an Envy 14 that is equivalent to the msi? Like, if there was a version of the Envy 14 that was $1,199, would it be/is it better or equal to the msi GX640? My dad is seriously against the GX640 and since the Envy 14 is made by a bigger company he will probably go for it...

I believe the cheapest Envy 14 is around $1400, out of my price range unfortunately. I am most likely going to go with the msi.

Alright, I will probably give them a call sometimes this week to see if they have any in stock. I am probably going to go with this one because you guys seem to think highly of it. I have a question though, what is over-clocking? And does the GX640 overheat enough to get a cooling pad?

Hmmm, I already decided on the other laptop (17" for about...1200 i think it was) if I do go to the states. Unfortunately, they don't deliver, so I'm looking for something to get from a store in Canada - like CanadaDirect.ca, Newegg.ca, Tigerdirect.ca, etc. Thank you though.

On the dell Canada site it's showing that they only have the Alienware M17x. It shows that I can see the specs for the M1730, but I can't add it to my cart or even see prices. (I can find it on the US site though... ugh...) I am getting pretty aggravated that I can't find a decent computer...
