Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
@ferrisnox - LMAO. Nice.
@everyone else: We of course love our customers, and we politely but firmly let them know that what they had inside the case. And no. We value their privacy, so there wasn't a need to tell them that their computer case contents upset 99% of my peers.
Of...
Thank you to everyone for their thoughts...hopefully waking up at least one person to double-take how they treat their equipment.
We heeded everyone's advice (even though we knew beforehand there wasn't a chance in hell we'd turn it on..for fear of everything in the case coming back to life)...
The customer told us "It ain't coming up..no how"
We go through so many computers a day..that we're oblivious to the condition until we open the case, or course.
You're right..IF we had seen this firsthand..and the condition it's in...we would have politely explained it to them that it's not...

Thanks for all the comments...this is the only forum that understands our own tech/geek pain :)
