I had major issues with the beta bios too, still ran my ram in dual channel, but I think it changed my ram timings cause I lost ~600MB in sandra right off the bat. I'm sticking with the 1.0 bios till an official update comes out. Also, dunno if Kyle or anyone is reading this thread, but the...
Other than the board somehow trying to run the memory way out of spec....I don't know.
From my sig you see im using just 2x512 corsair value ram in dual channel just fine, even OC'ed to 216mhz 2.5-3-3-8 1T.
Sorry yeah I should have mentioned that. Its an Enermax 465P-VE

I don't have easy access to a multimeter or I would test that. Thinking about upgrading power supply anyway to utilize the 24+8 connectors vs. the 20+4 that my PSU has.
Just got the rig in my sig finally hooked up and working properly today.
One thing concerns me though.
Looking at the MSI CoreCenter software my voltage readings are kinda high.
3.3V shows at 3.42v
5V shows at 5.51v
12V shows at 12.7V
Also my vcore shows 1.4v when I have it set at...
Im pretty sure the jumper you're lookin for is the little blue one right next to the battery on the motherboard. should be 3 pins there, and the jumper is connected to 1-2, move it to 2-3 and follow the instructions in the first reply.
OK after changing my mind 800000 times trying to figure what kind of motherboard i want, ive got it down to two models.
MSI K8N Diamond Plus
DFI LP UT-DR Expert
Yes I know the Expert would be better for OC'ing, and the Diamond has 2x16 PCI-E, i want to hear any arguements why I should NOT...
Needing something to replace my sigged mobo. Looking for a socket 939 board, good for overclocking, but without SLI. I was gonna go all out on a DFI expert, but i seriously doubt I will ever buy more than one vid card, so looking to save a little on a non-sli board. Any suggestions?
So far...
So this may just be me being paranoid. But I thought it might warrant a post.
Currently I have my voltage set at 1.4v for the cpu in bios.
When I open CPU-Z the voltage display there constantly fluctuates between 1.36 and 1.44v.
One, can this much variation cause stability issues? Two...
just chiming in here with my result.
my 0546 XPMW does 2.7 on 1.35v and stock cooling. Im pretty sure itll do more, but waiting for new motherboard. 2.8 @ 1.45v is my goal.
Yeah, I know about the ocw beta bioses. I tried beta2, still didnt work. Tried to flash beta1 too wouldn't even flash, gave me an incorrect file size error. I got my eyes set on a DFI SLI-DR Expert and a new PCI-E vid card.
little OT but anyone know of a cheap PCI-E card that'll give me at...
Yeah, gonna leave it at 2.7 for now, got the ram on a /14 divisor via systool which puts the ram @ 193, 1T also. Good enough for me for now.
B'day is next month...here's my list heh
2GB G'Skill PC4000
DFI Expert
new vid card...dunno which yet.
