Migrating Windows boot drive to larger drive

Yeah. When I got a new Lenovo laptop it came with a 256 GB NVMe drive stick. I replaced it with a 2 TB Samsung drive. Used Macrium free to clone the original drive. Worked completely and never looked back. I'm using that laptop right now to read forum posts.

Do the "funny shapes" on modular power supply cables match up with voltages, etc?

OK. As the OP here, I get the message. If/when I get a new PSU, get new cables from the vendor (or cablemods) that designed for that PSU. Cables cost lots less than a new PSU.

System won't power on at all after rebuild into new case

Well, when I first removed the HSF, there were no bent CPU pins. Then I replaced the HSF so I could test the motherboard. (Still dead.) Only this time, I heeded all the advice and twisted the HSF carefully before removing it. Damn, would you know it, now the CPU does have bent pins. Can...

Sounds good. Will this program work with the Studio drivers, instead of the regular release?

Do the "funny shapes" on modular power supply cables match up with voltages, etc?

I get that mixing and matching PS modular cables is a no-no. But what abouFS: Corsair AX1200i iCUE-compatible fully modular power supplyt those funny shapes for each pin, like the full square, or the square on bottom but rounded on top, or square on top but rounded on bottom? Is there any...

how to remove GPU from ASUS Strix-E - latch very hard to push down

How can you unlatch the card from the top, at least on an ASUS board where there is a tab that you push down on to unlatch the card.

how to remove GPU from ASUS Strix-E - latch very hard to push down

How do you guys unlatch your GPU card so you can remove it from your system. GPU is EVGA 3060 Ti. Motherboard is ASUS X570 Strix-E. Card installed in slot 1, and it overhangs slot 2, so that I have access to the card latch only from the right side. Using a flat blade screwdriver (very...

System won't power on at all after rebuild into new case

somebrains You are right. I inspected the AM4 socket and saw how retaining clips (?) moved into position when the retaining arm was down. That said, because of the issue with the AM4 socket, even after the retaining arm was done, the CPU was not held in place.

System won't power on at all after rebuild into new case

Yeah I'm going to do that tomorrow, using a sheet of cardboard to hold those components. I won't even use the NVidia GPU. I just want to see if the motherboard goes through the bootup steps and the "boot LEDs" light up. If that works, then I plug in the GPU and retry. If all that works, then...

System won't power on at all after rebuild into new case

The socket arm is locked down BUT the CPU is not tight in the socket. I did some searching and it seems that the AM4 socket is a bad design. You need to twist loose the HSF before trying to remove it from the CPU. I didn't know that when I removed the HSF. So now I think I may be up s---...

Can this be done? Aside from the drives, what are the necessary hardware and software components?
