    Fx 4300 really is slow

I agree with this as well. With 8GB of ram and an SSD, an FX 4300 should have no trouble at all loading Windows and apps like chrome. There shouldn't be any perceivable difference. Not even going as far back as the Core2Quads. They still ought to make for decent office workstations.

    R7 5800X3D, R7 5700X, R5 5600, R5 5500, R5 4600g, R5 4500, R3 4300 incoming

Wait, he didn't mention what resolution he games at or what type of games he plays. If he's an esports player, it could make a difference.

I was waiting to see if I could get a 5600X for my Asrock B350 board, but it doesn't look like they'll be releasing a bios that unlocks Zen 3 for the B350 line (They've already done it for the X370 boards). I settled for an R7 3800X from an R7 1700X. Performance is still very good.

    5800x most popular processor?

It's 600+ miles BOTH ways. Idk, it's hard to imagine the drive being worth it. I hate traveling and the price of gas continues to soar higher every day. Even if I get the deal of the century, I'll end up no better off than buying the same damn thing at a best buy.

    5800x most popular processor?

I just checked. I live in south FL. I'd have to drive 600+ miles all the way to the nearest state (GA) just to visit one. No thanks.

Looking for free software for gpu benchmark test for windows xp.

Yeah, those are the sorts of things I was referring to. I didn't mean to be dismissive of legacy apps running on XP in a VM. It makes sense for someone to use it that way.

Looking for free software for gpu benchmark test for windows xp.

Well, I actually don't remember what all I tried, but I realized many everyday applications didn't work (like chrome). I'll concede if you run XP in a VM for specific legacy apps then it should be perfectly serviceable. The machine I tried it on was an old OEM unit with the original windows XP...

I remember several years ago trying to use Windows XP. It wasn't pretty. Hardly anything runs on it. I'm guessing you're doing this as part of a challenge or interesting YouTube project.

    What happened to Zen 3+?

Am I the only one who suspects that the 5800x3d will be sold out for months and that there's no chance in hell anyone gets it at less than $599 due to demand? They scrapped an entire series and replaced it with only one chip. There's no way they can keep it in stock. I'm guessing most would be...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

So I tried out mining for a bout a month which netted about $70 bucks worth of bitcoin; however, I eventually opted to sell the GPU before it's too late to capitalize on the current prices. Even if prices don't come back down to normal, I doubt a second hand reference RX Vega 56 will be worth...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Well the good news is that I figured out the problem. When I placed "pause" at the end of the script, I discovered that it wasn't recognizing teamredminer.exe as a valid file. That's when I remembered that I had been running the batch file as administrator as well which automatically runs from...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

I modified the bat, but nothing is launching, so I'm guessing I did something wrong. Care to look it over? I've already set "teamredminer.exe" to run as administrator via properties. The US ethash pool address is one I got from here :: These environment variables should be set to for the...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

That'll be my next stop because I've been having one HELL of a time trying to get your values to stick in either MSI After Burner or the built-in Radeon Software tuning feature. I settled with using the "under-volt" preset until I figure a better solution out. I'm guessing both have to be...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Thanks. I got it from here...it turns out they used an Nvidia 1070 illustration for what was supposed to be instructions for a Vega 56. Anyways, I'm heading your advice and I've paused the miner for now until I've got all the parameters in correctly. I also needed to update the driver anyways.

Thanks for the response. I'll try it out. I found a website that says I should set: Core Clock: +100 Memory Clock: +600 Power Limit: 80 I'll start with that.
