I would be really curious to know whether the humm has been fixed as well. thats the only reason I sent my 2690 v1 back. otherwise it was a great monitor.
Monitor Guy....any news on the humm being fixed in 2690 version 2?
Thats a really useful link - thanks.
I wonder if someone knows where there is a full list of the monitors that have an internal programmable look-up table (LUT)?, eg. NEC2690, Samsung XL24, Eizo SX2461 etc.
I also experience a green/pink problem - maybe similar to that described by rgazaway. If I look straight at the centre of the monitor on a white screen - the centre appears white, glance to the left of the screen and there is a hint of green in the white. glance to the right of the panel and...
An update on the buzz/hum on my NEC2690. I followed soujir0u's idea and got a transformer to test the monitor at 110v. In my case it made no difference to the hum/buzz - it was still there. I can only conclude that the buzz/hum is related to the backlight. (When my ear is pressed near the side...
Snowdog - great review - thanks!
I'm really keen on this monitor - but like others can't buy it in the UK.
I know there's a 24" S-IPS hazro out there - but its not really the same animal - it has a glossy screen and non-adjustable stand. There are also reports of banding issues.
As...
Has anyone been able to collate information, (maybe in tabular format would be useful) which shows which NEC MULTISYNC 2690 WUXi revisions:-
1. Have the hum/buzz issue due to brightness adjust/voltage at 240 problem
2. Work with spectraview II to allow hardware LUT adjustment (if any do?). I...
Has anyone been able to collate information, in tabular form, which shows which NEC2690 revisions have the hum/buzz issue? I have seen a lot of reference to various european revisions such as 4A, 4B, 4F.
I have just bought a NEC2690 and my monitor is labelled revision 1A manufactured 2008/08...
I have just bought a NEC 2690Wuxi - NON spectraview version.
Im located in the UK.
I am curious about my abilty to calibrate it if I get the spectraview II software and a gretag Eye1 display 2.
I have look in my table E in the advanced menu and cannot see any reference to locking out of...

I bought this toshiba and am very happy with it. seems the price has gone up though - it was $700 when I bought it two weeks ago
Hi Micky, thanks for the info. As per my previous post, is there a way to turn ON/OFF the overdrive circuit from the on screen menus. I wonder whether the twinkling only occurs in movie mode?
how did you import from japan? what was your source there?

I spoke with Benq tech support in Uk a couple of weeks ago. they confirmed there IS a second firmware update being worked on. they didnt say what it would fix though.
Hi. I had a demo of the 2410 but havent seen the 2411 in action. the only thing that put me off the 2410 was the horrendous "twinkling" due to the overdrive circuit. The "twinkling" is shown as white flashes at high speed when watching video. I wonder if you can see this same thing on the 2411...
Hi. it might be worth waiting for the new Eizo 24" due in June. here's a link to a thread I started on this monitor. Given the monitor's product name it seems to be geared to HD and to coping with input from external sources.

Thanks for the info chippy.
glad to hear native digital are flexible and offered choice to return if unhappy. I wouldnt have thought the 7 day UK distance selling regs apply if you have unpacked and tried the item?
On a technical note - how have you found the monitor for playing DVD and video...
Hi Chippy,
I've been looking at these monitors for a while now and its only the dead pixel policy of Eizo Uk that has put me off taking the plunge. When you spoke with Native Digital - how did they react to you saying you would be sending back if there was a dead pixel ? - were they happy to...
