Just ordered the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA

I got mine the other day and my girlfriend has been using one since they first came out. My brief view: 1. Excellent viewing angles, color and contrast 2. Excellent brightness homogeneity with no bleed visible even in a dark room. 3. Visible color difference between left 3/4 and right 1/4. It's...

Can you tell TN from S-IPS?

Already been said but.... Of course if you take pictures of bright, contrasty and color rich desktops they will all look good, but that only tells a little bit of the story. Color shifts, poor viewing angles, uneven illumination, backlight bleed are things that make TN panels look poor in many...

Yes, expensive but: 1. Beautiful, high-quality design and materials 2. Great panel h-ips 3. Built in MacBook charger 4. Built in iSight webcam 5. Built in decent speakers 6. LED backlight that won't dim over time. Instant full brightness. No mercury either I definitely think there is a lot of...

None of the displays seemed to be perfect so I decided to just go ahead and order a Dell 2209wa since I know it's pretty good, even if it's not the best. At least it's inexpensive and will be fine for a while until something new comes along. It cost me less than £200 instead of the HP which...

I had a Lenovo L220x which has a PVa panel - I thought it was great but unfortunately it had bad corner bleed. Other than that it had amazing color reproduction, contrast and good viewing angles. Compared to the Lenovo, my girlfriend's Dell 2209wa has completely stable color regardless of angle...

Yes, I looked at available Hazro reviews and they seem to have lots of issue. And those that are favourable seem to be on the edge. The HP and Eizo seem to better bets and less likely to have problems, I think. Too bad the Hazro monitors are very nicely designed and I'm a sucker for sleek...

I'm leaning toward 1. Eizo S2242W 2. HP LP2475w 3. Dell 2209wa My girlfriend has the dell and I like it a lot but am not totally thrilled by the way it displays text. I also don't like the shimmer on black - is that the same with all current IPS panels? Any experience with the Eizo S2242w? I...

Very helpful but I was hoping that somebody who had made a similar choice would chime in. It seems as if all displays have some problem so I'm just trying to find one with the best balance... thanks!

I'm looking for a good quality monitor for photo, text and video. These are the qualities I want in order of priority 1. Good viewing angles 2. Good color, brightness and contrast (don't need wide color gamut display but don't mind them) 3. Good brightness distribution and minimal bleed - hate...

    New 24" iMacs: S-IPS?

Given that their viewing angle is listed as 178 degrees, I assume they're still using the same IPS panels....

Just ordered the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA

As I mentioned in my previous post, I put the sharpness down to 10 or even 20 and the text looks much better. As for the lenovo, I think it's a great display - vibrant, good viewing angles (though not as good as the Dell IPS), excellent backlight homogeneity except for some corner bleed at the...

Just ordered the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA

Thanks for this tip. Right, I never saw any kind of pink fringing, but it all looked overly-jagged and ugly. With sharpness at '0' it looks fuzzy, but at 10 and even 20 it all looks significantly better now. Don't know why I didn't try that earlier. Now it all looks good and comparable to my Lenovo.
