Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think I may have said exactly those words the first time I heard it too. It's an odd way to say it, for sure. I thought it was just her, until I saw in Outlook you could sort by "heavier on top" or "lighter on top".
My wife calls files "heavy" or "light" instead of big and small. That's how they say it in Portuguese, which is her native language. Probably other languages too. I thought it was funny the first few times I heard it, but when you think about it, it's not really any less accurate than calling...
Thought I'd ask the experts, since I have zero experience with this . . .
I'm thinking about buying a PC that comes with a GT 720, then adding a midrange GPU (possibly the 750 Ti). Would the GT 720 that it comes with be of any benefit as a dedicated PhysX card?
That Matrox Parhelia article sure brings back memories. It's a long story, but I copped my user name from that video card a long time ago.
But thanks for posting the reviewer's guide. It's cool to actually see one after hearing about them for so long.
edit:
Reading it, for me, reminds me...
The very worst motherboard experience I ever had was an Asus S939 motherboard with some nForce chipset. Weird, random reboots constantly. I'd literally never buy another nVidia chipset after that.
Seriously, I'd just return it all and give the money back. First of all, no possession is worth having to feel guilty over. Second of all, you just don't appreciate things in life unless you had to work for them.
Love that post. And it's such a common excuse I hear these days. Sure, some...
I just bought the same card. Lovin' the card, but I have to admit that the cooler is cheap trash. I've never installed an aftermarket GPU cooler before, so I don't have any great advice for you, but if you do figure something out (hopefully something cheap :D) I'd appreciate it if you updated...
I have a Palit 460 1GB, and I've only been able to get to 800Mhz core, 2000Mhz memory. Any higher and the card throttles down to 405Mhz until I reboot. And I'm only playing old games . . . a heavily modded Oblivion for the most part . . . no Furmark or anything. I'd try raising the voltage...
I had that same issue nearly every day a while back. I had upgraded from a X800XL to the 8800GT, and was running Vista x64. It started the day I installed the card. I kept hoping a driver update would come along and fix it, but it didn't go away until I upgraded to Windows 7.
Great article. Exactly the perspective I was looking for.
I think I need you to explain the power consumption graph to me. ;) Seriously, I did a double take at that graph . . . the efficiency on these chips blows my mind.
I'm on a C2D E8500 @ 3.8Ghz, and I'm not 100% but I don't think...
Terrific review. Your real world benchmarks again show another side of the story.
Ideally, I'd like to see best possible settings at two given resolutions based on the tier of the card, such as 2560x1200 and 1920x1080 for top tier cards, lower for lesser cards. Just an idea . . . I suspect...
