+1 to the difficulty of choosing a LCD monitor... I know i't kind an of topic, but a few companies are transitioning in the laptop segment to LED-backlit monitors. I wonder how far away is the desktop LCD monitor of geting the LED backlit into it's panel without spending 1000' €/$...

The 24" NEC is made for the US market, the 26" for the EU market. I can't find a retailer at all in Germany for the 24" model, just the 26". Of course that does not mean that it's impossible to get one. One reatailer offerd me to get the 24" model for some additional cost, ironicly it would be...

since the NEC 2490 is (at least) a year old model, I just wondered if there is anything new on the horizont? if the xx90 series is the latest, what name of the next model would be?

I joined the forum just because of the good monitot feedback you can get here. I read the entire topic about the Dell 2408 and also the above posted review which is excelent. I wish most of the other review sites would include such an extensive comparison and all the stuff about the input lag...
