Woot, thanks for that, a bit new to ATI :D

Strange issue, I've had a 4870 and currently on a 4890, both cards only show a maximum of x8 AA, in-game(s) and in the control panel, both are different bands (Asus/XFX), I've had Nvidia cards, on which I can see AA options beyond x8...I don't understand, am I missing something?

It looks like texture popping, could also be Anisotropic Filtering (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anisotropic_filtering).

Synthetic tests were disappointing for me too, I think the advantage of ATI is that it scales with AA very good, compared to an 8800GTS, right?
