Build help with ~$2800 gaming machine.

I'm like you, I don't like budget-minded builds. But, I also usually don't buy things that are brand new because 1) sometimes they come with problems that aren't hashed out and 2) they're way overpriced. So is it really worth it to wait for the X99? I don't know. Should I wait for Broadwell...

Build help with ~$2800 gaming machine.

    1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc Mainly gaming, but I also do a lot of web/backend development work. I usually have a ton of things open, and run a VM for development. My current machine has 32gb of RAM, and I'll need at least that amount in my new...

    LCD monitor for gaming.

A 37" monitor would definitely be a disadvantage in a game like quake.

My question would be then, would I notice the ghosting when playing? Or only if I get a camera and take a picture.

    LCD monitor for gaming.

I never played a game in my life with vsync on. I've been looking more at that Asus VK246H. It talks about low input lag, but that's not what bothers me so much, it's the ghosting. In that article, it talks about it ghosting (the "corona" effect). So I'm guessing this is a monitor I do not want.

    LCD monitor for gaming.

Thank you JaguarSKX, that is looking very good to me. I'm not looking for an LCD with NO ghosting (that's not possible right now), just significantly less than what I'm experiencing. There are LCDs that are good enough that you can't really notice, which is what I'm looking for. If you...

    LCD monitor for gaming.

My issue is it's hard to know who to trust. I read reviews of monitors and people say "no ghosting or lag!!!" and stuff, but they're wrong. These are the people who are not hardcore gamers, and who have no experienced the greatness that is the CRT. I looked at the BenQ G2400WD you mentioned...

    LCD monitor for gaming.

I recently bought a samsung T240HD to replace my crt since my crt was dieing. I play fast FPS games like quakelive and cod4, and this monitor is completely unacceptable. ~50ms average input lag and horrible ghosting. I've been looking at monitors like the viewsonic VX2265wm and the samsung...
