My Opteron 170 is running at 62 degrees load ... at only 1.4V...
idle is usually 42-45 degrees...
I'm using the Zalman CNPS 7700 in a Silverstone SG01-B
I have no idea whats going on, but my system/chipset temps hover at 45-48 deg under load, 36-40 idle
ambient temperature is usually...
I know these chips are floating around with you guys that seem to have all the luck when landing good silicon...
Anyways, title says it all. I'm sick and tired of buying chips both retail and OEM and getting mediocre results.
Athlon 64 3700+ Retail (Fry's Combo) CCBWE 0544VPMW ~...
It arrived on Wednesday, 5/3/06.
I guess I might as well. Just because its a bad production date and controller code doesn't mean that its a bad processor for sure.
I'm just afraid that the results will be so depressing that I'd end up feeding the chip to my dog. :p
Bleh... After my cruddy Opteron 170 (CCBWE 0551)... I decided to order an Opteron 165 since everyone at the time was getting pretty decent production codes.
I ended up landing a CCBWE 0607...
That's it for me... :( I'm just going to order a hand-picked chip and pay the premium...
I admit I have no actual experience with SLI, but from what I've heard from friends and browsing forums online, Oblivion does not take advantage of SLI in its current form.
You'd probably be better off saving the money for a better single card solution if Oblivion is important to you!
