so i just bought a 2005FPW on flea bay, its got a little backlight bleeding but not much and nothing that i cant fix myself.
i went a little mad during the bidding though an its just cost me £237 shipped when i originally intended to spend only £200.
i think thats abit much to be honest...
heh the console are really already beaten
X1950 has 48 shaders (ok theyre straight Pixel shaders) and they run 150mhz faster, and they have 512mb GDDR4 (1Ghz) all to them selves!! and id be willing to bet that the 7900GTX is also better than whats in the PS3, and if its not then the 7950GX2 is
i personally dont think any card is particularly future proof. this time next year you will probably need Crossfire X1900's just to stay in the game. this industry moves to fast, and there are too many games that just dont make efficient use of resources.
the X1800 while its got some extra...
i have to say, ive played most of the latest games out, FC, HL2, FEAR etc you name it. shimmering can be found in all of them....if you look. if you play the game instead then its like its not there.
the only game i have played where the shimmering was so bad it was actually the first thing i...

dabs.com have MSI's 7900GTX 512 on pre order for £393 (inc vat) and free shipping on orders over £250
MSI's 7900GT 256mb is £237, only £3 more than the 7800GT which it will surely beat.
7800GTX 512 is still over £500...
you mean lurking right?
anyway, my preference for 3rd party coolers is the Zalman VF700's ok they dump air into your case again instead of the ATI silencers by arctic cooling that vent it out the back (DHES), but it doesnt seem to hinder performance any.
not sure which ATI silencers fit...
to be expected really, its only a refresh die shrink and speed bump.
it should at least keep pace with the X1900XT in a lot of places, despite the 1900 having double the pixel shader count. its not really an apples to apples comparison (16x3 vs 24x1....NV still has more TMU's etc) but i think...
really not sure one that, i dont think many if any GT's had a single slot design, they are pretty warm cards. my old leadtek 6800GT loaded well over 80 and that was with their hunk-o-copper cooling solution
i think there was a 6800NU that was passively cooled though, and i think some of them...
yeah they do but.....i dont think they allow you to step up for free.
ie if you buy your 7800GT now for $300 and the 7900GT comes out in 2 weeks for $300....its a no go for you becuase its going to be free.
however 7800GT -> 7900GTX would be fine.
i thought Daily tech already confirmed that the 7900GTX will only be 24pipes
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=915
ahhh hang on a sec, its a little misleading. they dont directly say "it has 24 pipes" what they do say is its capable of doing 24 pixels per cycle
i dunno what...
