Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

The 216W Dell PSU. The spikes are only detected by the electronic 20A fuse of the multimeter - that safely shuts down the connection. Without the meter it works ok - but I have no control. The spikes occured in the Skydiver benchmark of 3Dmark and in Furmark. Should I wait for the GTX 950 (90W) ?

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

It works. Heavy load 16A, but short spikes of 20A makes me uneasy. Have to rethink the concept ....

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

I am planning to connect the e3-1220Lv2 and GTX960 to the picoPSU-160-XT like this. Does it make sense ?

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

I think you are right. The 12v 192w brick was also starting to become my main concern. If it becomes unstable at such a high load it could fry everything  I think I will try the picoPSU-160-XT with a Dell 12V 18A (216W) power supply instead (will require 78% efficiency) Waiting for the...

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

Here is actual system measurements with the Intel Xeon e3-1220Lv2 and the KFA2 GTX 750 ti: Idle : 25W - 2,1A CPU Burn: 44W - 3,7A GPU Burn (Furmark): 111W - 9,3A Extrapolated for GTX 960 - GPU Burn (Furmark): 170W - 14,2A The big question is, will the picoPSU-160-XT and 192W power supply be...

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

I wonder how much the varying levels of power spikes of the different GTX 960 cards will stress the picoPSU-160-XT ? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-960,4038-8.html

What is the max operating temp for e3-1220LV2 ?

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

The slim H61 motherboard does work with the Intel Xeon e3-1220LV2 (when using a graphics card) :D That means only 17w for the CPU (allowing all the rest for the graphics card)

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

Sure, standard H61 drivers. This thin itx board is special because it has a PCI-E x16. I hope it supports Intel Xeon e3-1220LV2

    And it is thin :)

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

I have four questions though about this motherboard: 1) Is it really pci-e x16, or only x8 or x4 ? - pci-e x16 2.gen. 2) does the bios allow E3-1220L V2 cpu ? - don't know yet. 3) does the mini pci-e allow mSATA ssd ? - no, MINI PCIE WIFI Interface only 4) is it stable ? - yes In...

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

Unfortunately I can not find any Mindstep web site and the chinese seller does not reply to any questions (the seller did not even provide drivers). So, I am basically on my own. I plan to build it in a M350 (or chieftec ix-01b) itx case.

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

I purchased and received the slim Micro-step SH61-L2 socket 1155 itx motherboard I talked about earlier. It works fine with a Celeron 1610T (for testing) and a GTX 960. Is there a way I can check if the bios supports the Intel Xeon e1220Lv2, before actually purchasing the expensive cpu ? The...

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

Between 60 and 70 c in games (fans at 12v - silent anyway). Any particular game ?

Pico PSU Requirements for an SFF build

It is an old P3/AMD 1U/2U cpu cooler. I guess temps are relative, but load temp flattens out at 70c after a while in Furmark. Idle temp is 35c.
