This is the main reason I will never buy a Mac: 24-inch Monitor 3.06GHz Core 2 DUO 4GB memory 1TB hard drive 8x double-layer SuperDrive NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 with 512MB memory $2,199.00 The only thing decent is the hard drive and memory. For this kind of money everything else is...

I have tried this vga cooler on a reference 4870 and the thing that no one seems to mention except for a couple people on the internet is that although you gpu may be well cooled, your VRMs are fucken ROASTING! going over 120 C from the shitty little ramsinks they give you. That means you...

I wouldn't consider it to the point that it is a scam but the scores are definetly become a bit too optimistic by about 1 to 2 points on sites such as Gamespot. Examples: Left 4 Dead 8.5 no that really should be only about 7.5 being a fast paced type shooter. Far Cry 2 8.5 no that really...

I remember about a dozen years ago I had a Pentium 60 and decided to get a 3DFX Voodoo2 video card and tried to run Unreal (first one) boy was I wrong it was very choppy, then I changed the Pentium 60 to an AMD Duron at the time and it ran much better. If you can wait/afford it I would try to...

In the next generation (XBOX720??) I will just buy a console for the games and a cheap computer just to run the internet and media and connect them to a good hdmi hdtv. No more buying very expensive computer parts and constantly changing boards every six months. It's sad to see a two year old...

The gameplay is very good, however, the graphics are start to show it's age because all Bethesda did with Fallout 3 is take Oblivion and just made a completley new level (scenery), that's it. If they were nice they would of just released a mod or scenery disk for less money than just rehashing...

Another Windows? but I just brought Windows Vista!....ah Bull$$$$$$$$$$hit! :( I got a feeling that this may have been done intentionally to con more money from the consumers, by purposely making Vista bulky and then decide to release a more efficient version in which will be Windows 7.

Amazon is selling it for $545 after the rebate and it's in stock.

Thanks for your responses. By the way, I got one of those defective GTX280s that are going around. My card was overheating after playing about 5 minutes of Crysis on high settings, it was going past 100 Celcius. That could explain the poor 3DMark score. I RMA,d the card and the technician at...

Here is the specifications of my computer setup: Windows XP Professional SP2 with the latest of all drivers Intel Core2 Quade 2.4 Ghz (Q6600) 2 GB Kingston HyperX 800 EVGA motherboard with Nvidia 680 chipset Enermax PRO 82+ 620 watts power supply EVGA GTX280 graphics card I ran the...

Flight Simulator X needs a really good CPU and memory because there are a lot of polygons to render and a video card does not render polygons but fills the textures and draws the screen, so a slow CPU and or memory will "bottleneck" the game frame rate.

Bioshock just got it's activation limit removed which is a very good thing and I hope they will do that with Mass Affect too. The 3 activation limit is the most assinine copy protection scheme I EVER heard of in my entire computer gaming life (I started computer gaming over 20 years ago back in...

I remember the computer format war among 4 great origins in the 1980s: Atari Amiga Apple PC The PC eventually squashed them all except for maybe a bit of Apple. There is no way a console is going to threaten the PCs throne after all the trouble that was went through with the computer...

For the VP saying that the baseline situation will be better is a bit of a fish story because even though console graphics are better than pc integrated graphics, he sure doesn't mention that what the PC will be getting will be a port instead and as we know some ports can be rather sh**y. Even...

One thing that I would be leary about a policy such as accidental damage is that if you drop the machine and discovered that, for example, the hard drive now makes a louder noise but still works and the accident didn't show any external damage then it would be hard to convince that the hard...
