Widescreen vs Regular screen

I just returned from a short excursion to BB and CC. I saw the HP monitors with glossy finished and decided they're not for me. They had a ripply texture to them. HP had a "Touch Screen PC" with a perfectly smooth glass finish I could live with, though. Sony has the same smooth glass on... -

Dell 1908FP & SP1908FP: 19," 5ms, 800:1, HDCP
Which would be the best choice between the DELL SP1908FP, the NEC 90GX2-BK, or the Acer AL2223WD? They would all be close in price. I don't game at all, or watch movies on my PC display (that's what my home theater is for). I'm thinking the extra screen real estate (207.36 sq in. VS 173.28)... -

Been doing more research since my post in the SP1908FP topic. I'm kind of wondering how the matte finish got to be so popular in the first place. Anti glare is fine, but it never seemed to bother CRT users much before. I'm currently using a 19" flat aperture grille which causes me no "glare"... -

I'm very interested in snagging a Dell Deal, and including that monitor in the configuration. I want a 19" 4x3, but I'm not too sure about the glossy screen part. Anybody comment on glossy screens in general? TIA! -

Gateway FPD2485W - 24" HD LCD
I'm in the middle of testing this monitor, and found one dead pixel (stuck white) 2" up and 4" from the left side. Not sure if it's worth swapping for that. If I get another with dead pixels in other areas, I'll wish I never bothered. This is the first LCD I've ever purchased. Would you... -
