    SFF for OPTY or X2

    Biostar Tforce 6100-939 here (Opteron 165). So far, only problems have been with stability of the on-board sound.

    Same here. Opty 165 priming at 2.6 (290x9) at 1.5v which is reported as 1.45v idle, 1.42v under dual prime. Haven't tried a mem OC yet. I cannot get above 290 however. Unsure if this is mem controller, "FSB" or other. Sweet mATX setup, raidmax 450w on sale at NewEgg for $20 after...

    What apps make your X2 shine?

    You think Word is fast - try multiple instances of Wordpad! Or Notepad, even! ;) I expect voice dictation into a Word doc is much quicker using a dual core cpu. Plan to find out shortly (165 on a 6100-939 coming).

    Purchase NOW or LATER (Opteron 170)

    I've heard at least one person claim that painting the compound on (a very thin and even layer) is the best way to go. I don't know this from experience, but that sounded plausible for a pretty flat sink/core surface.
