actually, does anyone know if enabling "overclocking recovery" might screw up OCing the motherboard? Or should that option be left enabled? Thanks
edit: I disabled "Overclocking recovery" and booted just fine at 1333 fsb. This puts the q6600 at 3.0 ghz. Running 1.3v and stable prime 95 for 2 hours
Ok, IC. I know about this FSB holes (really annoying). I tried 1333 and it crashes when I launch nvtune's nvmonitor. Now I am beginning to wonder if that app is unstable  I will try 1333 and c if prime95 passes.
I have not tried that actually. Is the board known to have kinks between 300 and 333? I got a q6600, and I feel like it has way more room than 2.7. I had it running just fine at 2.68 on stock volts.
Just got this motherboard bout a week ago. Gotta say I am definitely not impressed. I am trying to OC this guy and it seems to give an exception at 300 fsb. If anyone can make a guide on how to OC the board, what voltages to increase and when, would be nice. Thanks
gahhh what. You are setting the cpu freq to 270? to 420? what does that mean?
What you need to do is set the ht reference clock up by 5 mhz. Keep doing that until you reach instability. Set the htt multi to 3x and keep the cpu multi at 10x. Make sure the mem is set on a divider. Thats just...
I bought a pc from cyberpowerpc (or ibuypowerpc I dont recall) about 5-6 years ago. This was pretty much the time that the athlon xp have been out for a good year or so. I purchased the athlon xp 2000+ system, not a complete one though. I just bought the cpu, motherboard, psu and case. The rest...
its pretty good, but i think your cpu can go higher. Drop the HT to 3x and ram up the fsb higher. You can probably do 1.6v on the core and still stay resonably cool.
